Toul. Crane returns to station: nighttime accessibility work continues

Launched in mid-April, the work to make the station accessible will continue until the end of December 2025. Despite questions expressed by some local residents about the duration of the work, the project is progressing according to schedule, with regular night-time interventions, as confirmed by SNCF Gares & Connexions, the project's project manager.
Last week, a massive crane was installed at the bottom of Rue du Saint-Michel to place the concrete blocks that will form the shafts of the future elevators, designed to improve access to the platforms for people with reduced mobility (PRM). Once this step was completed, the crane was dismantled and moved to another site.
Another crane returned a few days later, on Wednesday, August 13, around 4 p.m., this time installed on Avenue Victor-Hugo, between the newspaper's editorial offices and the steps of the station.

It was straightened shortly after its arrival, and work resumed immediately: teams worked until 5 a.m. this Thursday to continue installing the elements necessary for the transfer of the future elevators. The crane is expected to leave the site again this Friday, and traffic and parking should resume more or less normally around the station.
As a reminder, the underpass connecting Avenue Victor-Hugo to the Saint-Michel district remains open to pedestrians and cyclists during the day. However, it is closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. to allow for nighttime technical operations.
