Châtillon-sur-Seine. A modest blood drive

On Wednesday, August 20, 53 people showed up, including two new donors, at the Luc-Schréder hall in Châtillon-sur-Seine for the blood drive. However, only 43 people were able to receive blood. Dr. Alain Dupharre of the Auxerre site explains the number of rejected donors: "Some were bitten by ticks, others were abroad." Marie-France Fauquette, president of the Association for Blood Donation, notes: "The drive went well, despite the many volunteers called upon to look after the grandchildren. Those present welcomed the donors well, offering them snacks."
Pascaline Rimbault, a 21-year-old stonemason from Châtillon-sur-Seine, has made her second donation: "It's a duty to give blood. There are people who are suffering. In my family, people with anemia have received blood. I want to help."
Pierre de Schmidt, 18, came to make his third donation: "All reasons are valid for giving blood. My mother is here, she gives and encourages me."
The next blood drive will take place on Wednesday, October 29, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Désiré-Nisard high school gymnasium.
