Consumption. Cases of listeriosis: Coulommiers, Camembert, goat cheese... Which cheeses are being recalled?

Potentially contaminated cheese alert. Monday and Tuesday, More than 40 batches of pasteurized milk cheeses have been recalled for suspected contamination with listeria, which causes listeriosis. Indeed, health authorities have recorded 21 cases of poisoning from this bacteria, including 18 since the beginning of June, with a "possible link" to "the consumption of pasteurized milk cheeses produced by the Chavegrand company," according to Public Health France.

This 120-employee SME, located in the Creuse region, is "recalling all batches of cheese produced before June 23, 2025," the French health agency informs us. The affected cheeses "were marketed until August 9, 2025 by the cheese factory throughout France and internationally, under various trademarks. Here is the list of affected products.

The products previously presented and affected by the recall bear the FR 23.117.001 CE/UE health mark. Details of the cheeses are available on the official Rappel Conso website , but it was overloaded this Wednesday morning.

Obviously, it is recommended not to consume these cheeses. "People who have consumed them and who experience a fever, whether isolated or accompanied by headaches and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption," warns Public Health France. The elderly, pregnant women, and immunocompromised individuals should be particularly vigilant. The incubation period for listeriosis can be up to eight weeks.
