Doubs. Solitude: SOS Friendship, a light in the night for lonely souls

Around thirty listeners currently make up the SOS Amitié Besançon Franche-Comté workforce and share the few hours of on-call time they provide each month. Their mission, wherever they are located in the country, is to respond to phone calls and online requests from isolated people in distress, on the website of the national association created in 1967 and certified by the Ministry of Health, from mainland France, overseas departments and territories, or even from expatriates located in any country around the world. The teams, including the one in Besançon, received a total of more than 3.7 million calls in 2024. They were only able to answer one in six calls.
