Cédric Alcaraz is cycling across France in tribute to a colleague who died of cancer, raising funds along the way. He will stop in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles on May 20th for a special evening featuring sports figures, artists, and a raffle.

Having set off from Picardy, Cédric Alcaraz has embarked on a cycling tour of France that will take him to Corsica. On May 20, this accomplished cyclist will stop in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles for a charity event at the Green Shack , a pub-brasserie in the town center.

Because this journey isn't just the result of a personal and sporting project. In addition to being an amateur cyclist, Cédric Alcaraz is a hotel manager in Blois. He's hopping on his bike to cover more than 2,500 kilometers, primarily to pay tribute to Christophe Tirvert, a voshotels.com employee who died of cancer in 2023.

The goal of the "Gentleman Tour" is to raise funds at each stop for associations fighting the disease. In Gironde, Saint-Médard is mobilizing thanks to the partnership between the Ibis Styles and the pub opposite. "Thibaut Gérard is fully committed to the idea by privatizing the Green Shack for an exceptional evening," explains Alexandre Deloustal, manager of the hotel.

Ramé and Maynadier

On the program: a cocktail reception, live music, magic tricks... Former Girondins de Bordeaux players like Ulrich Ramé and Johan Micoud will be in attendance. Former UBB hooker Clément Maynadier, now an oyster farmer, will have an oyster stand. Actress Marilyn Lima has also confirmed her attendance. Cédric Alcaraz will share his story of the trip. "We've planned a raffle with some great prizes: hotel stays, a padel racket, signed jerseys from Éric Cantona, Jean-Pierre Papin, Maxime Lucu, etc.," explains Alexandre Deloustal.

The entrance fee will be 60 euros per person. Half of the proceeds will be donated to the Aladin 33 association , whose dual mission is to make dreams come true for seriously ill children and improve their living conditions at the Bordeaux University Hospital. The host bar will be able to accommodate between 300 and 400 people. There are still some seats available.

Reservations required: greenshack.fr or 05 54 07 31 30. Admission: 60 euros per person, including 30 euros donated to Aladin 33.
