Yanary Befort, a sports coach from Lyon, has died after a battle with cancer.

The Lyon sports community is in mourning. Yanary Befort, a sports coach with a large social media following, died on Sunday, June 1st, at the age of 32, from colorectal cancer. Originally from the Lyon region, she became known for giving fitness classes in Lyon and Villeurbanne, before sharing her battle with the disease on her Instagram account, which has a following of over 58,000 people, for over a year.

On this platform, Yanary documented her treatment journey with great sincerity, blending messages of hope with poignant testimonies. One of her last posts, in which she announced that her body was "giving up," deeply moved her community. Until the end, she continued to advocate the strength of the present moment and resilience in the face of adversity.

Beyond her coaching career, Yanary was involved in several local cancer-fighting initiatives. She participated in events such as the “ La Scintillante ” charity race, organized by the Léon-Bérard center, Le Progrès reports. She had expressed her desire to resume sport alongside her loved ones as soon as her health allowed.
