Fighting the 'no kids' trend: inclusion doesn't come with a sticker

The round sticker is expected to appear in shop windows starting this summer, like the Routard guide badge. Its purpose will not be to distinguish the quality of the food served, but to label places "pro-children." The announcement was made Wednesday on TF1 by the High Commissioner for Children Sarah El Haïry, and presented as a solution to combat the "no-kids" trend. This movement, which originated in particular from across the Atlantic and is gradually being imported into France, deliberately bans children from certain places – hotels, restaurants, airplanes, etc. – as Libération reported in early 2024 .

The approach is intended to be participatory: from July 5, parents will be able to recommend an establishment (museum, hotel, restaurant, etc.) on a dedicated platform, based on several criteria, such as the proposal of a " child rate" or the provision of "adapted facilities" , such as chairs or play areas.
