Bar-le-Duc. May 8: 80 years after the victory, the city chooses to celebrate peace.

An event prepared "since last year," confirms Alexis Pinheiro, municipal councillor responsible for festivals and ceremonies as well as the duty of remembrance.
Rather than simply commemorating May 8th, the city chose to celebrate peace on the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in 2025. The festivities began with a republican picnic, before the public could enjoy the various activities offered in the city hall park.
"We wanted a day focused on remembrance," explains the Barisian elected official, "and on celebrating the victory. Also on transmission..."
In the function room, a film edited by Expressions was screened, featuring testimonies to tell the story of the Liberation.
