Freyming-Merlebach. A sacred union to create a community of communes

The Freyming-Merlebach community of communes has decided to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a weekend of events planned throughout the area on September 13 and 14. The goal: to showcase the area's assets, including nature, culture, leisure, and sports, with the idea of ​​also highlighting its heritage, primarily marked by the mine. This is one of the unifying elements that led to the creation of this inter-municipality.

The first inter-municipal structure was born in 1975 under the name of Urban District, with seven municipalities.
