The far right is carrying out a coup against the Prolé d'Alès
The far right has claimed new victims. A dozen neo-Nazis from the Montpellier Block violently burst into the Prolé bar in Alès on Friday, May 30, during the Ascension Day fair, "beating and tear-gassing the celebrating crowd and the communist activists and their friends, " denounced Giovanni Di Francesco, the PCF branch secretary in this town in the Gard department. Around twenty people who were in this emblematic place of struggle, celebration, and culture in Alès were injured and rescued by the Red Cross and the emergency medical services, including a PCF railway activist who was urgently hospitalized.
" Given the seriousness of these facts, at a time when everywhere in France the extreme right is finding media trivialization but also complacency from the Power and porosity of the right both nationally and locally, thus giving it wings, we strongly condemn and call for a firm reaction " adds the communist leader. According to the first elements of the investigation, two victims filed a complaint this Saturday morning, one of them, seriously injured, had to take 5 days of ITT, reports France Bleu . Giovanni Di Francesco has stated that he wants to be " Prosecutor of the Republic" ; he is calling for a republican rally this Monday, June 2, at 6 p.m., in front of the sub-prefecture to denounce " this increasingly uninhibited fascist rise" .
" I ask the mayor and the sub-prefect to take scrupulously care to prevent these known and recognizable individuals from exercising their bestiality in the city on this feast day ," continues Giovanni Di Franceso. "Never, ever will we allow the descendants of those who plunged France and the world into their darkest hours to feast in silence, those who aim to set humans against each other in order to better dominate, annihilate, and dehumanize them. We oppose them with fraternity, emancipatory struggles and culture, solidarity and social justice, peace ."
The PRG representative from Nîmes is calling for the dissolution of the Montpellier Block, which constitutes a “danger to the Republic” .
