A primary to avoid disunity is the wish of several left-wing politicians with a view to 2027. But this method of designation sometimes turns more into confrontation than harmony. Aware of the flaws of this election, Clémentine Autain launched a trial balloon in the Tribune Dimanche, advocating for a single-round majority judgment. For the former LFI member, this system makes it possible to "compensate for the perverse effects of a traditional primary, which tends to accentuate divisions rather than promote the coherence of a whole," seeing it as an "innovative and uncomplicated" process.

This voting method aims, rather than voting for a single candidate, to award grades, such as "excellent", "passable" or "insufficient" to all of them in order to rank them according to one's preferences. The person who receives the best grade from a majority
