Flappy Bird: The game is finally back, where to download it on your smartphone

Do you remember Flappy Bird? This video game, available in 2013 for iPhone and 2014 for Android, made a lot of noise when it was released. The result of a development project by Dong Nguyen, this title was based on a rather simple, but oh-so-addictive premise: a bird that had to pass through pipes while flying. The very approximate controls largely contributed to the game's success and its online popularity.
However, just a few weeks after its official release on Android, Flappy Bird was suddenly removed from download platforms by its creator himself. He explained that he didn't appreciate having created something so addictive. This unexpected decision even led to several iPhones being resold for high prices, simply because they still had Flappy Bird installed.
Flappy Bird is officially back, but where can you download it?Fans of the game were very worried about the return of Flappy Bird. In September 2024, the title made headlines again by announcing its upcoming return, but with several new features related to cryptocurrencies.
A decision that was clearly not welcomed by Internet users and which seems to have been heard since the new version of Flappy Bird "does not include any Web3 or cryptocurrency elements" as indicated in the press release announcing the game's return.
Flappy Bird is definitely back, but only on Android smartphones. The title is also not available on the Google Play Store, where you probably usually download your games and apps. To find it, you'll need to download the Epic Games Store, the official launcher from the makers of Fortnite and Rocket League.

Once the Epic Games Store is downloaded to your Android device, all you have to do is create an account (or log in to an existing one) to find Flappy Bird featured on the app's homepage. The game is free to install and relies only on in-app ads and microtransactions to fund its operations.
