Super Mario Galaxy: A compilation announced to celebrate the famous plumber's 40th anniversary

To celebrate Mario's birthday, Nintendo has revealed the upcoming release of a compilation of the Super Mario Galaxy games and its sequel on Nintendo Switch.

Mario's 40th anniversary couldn't be ignored by Nintendo! The company took advantage of its latest Nintendo Direct to unveil a new compilation bringing together two of the famous plumber's most acclaimed games: Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Players will be able to discover or rediscover these two classic adventures that take Mario and his friends into space to thwart the plans of the terrible Bowser while meeting the mysterious Princess Harmony.

This remaster includes several graphical improvements over the original editions released on Wii and Wii U. Players will be able to enjoy the Super Mario Galaxy universe with improved graphics. Two new Amiibos centered around Mario and Harmony are also planned.

The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 compilation will be available on Nintendo Switch starting October 2, 2025. The new Nintendo Switch 2 console is also capable of running this compilation, but it is not exclusive to the latter.
