A'ja Wilson breaks WNBA records

A'Ja Wilson made history with Las Vegas on Sunday.
At 193 centimeters tall, A'ja Wilson is used to reaching the top. The 29-year-old American has already been named WNBA MVP three times, in 2020, 2022, and 2024. She is currently the best female basketball player in the world.
On Sunday, the Las Vegas center did something no other woman had ever done before. Against the Connecticut Sun, Wilson not only scored more than thirty points (32 total) for the thirtieth time in her career, but she also grabbed twenty rebounds. It's the combination of the two, that "30+20," that makes history.
The Tokyo and Paris Olympic champion's coach, Becky Hammon, simply had to appreciate it: "It's just A'ja doing A'ja," she said. The player, for her part, hadn't fully appreciated the performance until she was confronted by the media: "It's huge, I didn't know it was a first. It's surprising that it's only happening now, considering all the great players in the league."
The fact is, Wilson is probably the greatest, having already reached 5,000 points since the start of her WNBA career, which began in 2018. “It’s pretty cool to have my name in the record books for that,” she smiled at the press conference. “I’m sure there will be many more after me. But yeah, it’s nice to be the first.”
A'ja Wilson, who designed her own shoe for her sponsor Nike, could also become the first player to win four MVP awards, as her main competitor, Napheesa Collier, has been injured.
