Athletics, French Elite Championships: Who are the Périgourdins expected in Talence this weekend?
Bergerac's Ana Delahaie will attempt to reach another podium after the European Championships. French Athletics Federation

Trélissac's Milann Klemenic will be absent from the French elite competition in Talence this weekend, but the Dordogne will be able to count on other athletes, starting with Ana Delahaie.

From August 1st to 3rd, Talence will host the French Elite Athletics Championships. The sport's greatest athletes will be in Gironde. Mélina Robert-Michon, the French flag bearer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, will be in attendance.

Delahaie can aim for a podium

For the Dordogne, some well-known faces will be keen to put in some strong performances. While Milann Klemenic, who won yet another French 400m championship title, will not be present, Bergerac's Ana Delahaie, bronze medalist at the European Under-21 Championships in Bergen (Norway), will be on track for the 10,000m walk. And in fact, the final will be held at 10 p.m. this Friday, August 1st.

Pierre Boudy (20 years old), from Trélissac, a member of Tours, and Soheil Boufrizi-Parenty, formerly of Dordogne Athlétisme, will both be competing in the 3,000m steeplechase. Their goal: to finish in the top eight in this event, the final of which will take place this Saturday at 9:30 p.m. They will have to be wary of Djilali Bedrani, European vice-champion in Rome in 2024.

Finally, Josselain Barrellon-Vernay will be competing in the 1,500m and will try to reach the final (this will take place on Sunday at 4:40 p.m.).

How to follow the Périgourdins?

The first day of the French Elite Championships will be broadcast in full starting at 1:30 p.m. on Athlé TV (subscription required). The L'Équipe channel will broadcast the evening's events from 8:25 p.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the weekend.
