Copa del Rey: Sortloth the executioner, Alvarez and Griezmann infernal, Koundé overwhelmed... The tops/flops of Barcelona-Atlético

After the spectacular Copa del Rey semi-final first leg on Tuesday evening between FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid (4-4), find out what our editorial team liked... and disliked.
TOPS
Alexander Sorloth, Barça's executionerLike last December, Alexander Sorloth made his mark in injury time. At the time, it was to give Atlético victory in the league (1-2). On Tuesday, it was to snatch a draw in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final (4-4) . Coming into play in place of Antoine Griezmann (68th), the giant (1.95m) showed his freshness and physical impact to make the difference and snatch a draw (4-4) in this first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. The rojiblanco finisher showed his composure to snatch the equalizer in the final seconds (90th+3). Lethal. Barça's executioner this season.
Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez are hellishThe Madrid attacking duo delivered a (very) interesting match. First scoring in the first minute of the match, the Argentinian striker turned into a passer to offer his team's second goal to the Frenchman (6th). Decisive for both of them, the two partners caused a lot of damage to the Catalan defense, until the former French international came off, shortly after the hour mark (68th).
Lamine Yamal did (very) badThe Catalan firebrand once again delivered a major performance. On fire on his right wing, the Blaugrana never stopped giving the poor Javi Galan, who was replaced in the 55th minute, completely exhausted, a headache with his incessant dribbling. Even if he didn't find the back of the net against the Colchoneros, the Spanish prodigy contributed to a lot of his team's attacks and brought constant danger, notably by shooting several times at goal, forcing Juan Musso to save.
A masterful, immortal match AtléticoWhat a spectacular clash. While they were leading 2-0 after 10 minutes. The Rojiblancos were knocked down to see Barça take the lead (4-2). But that was (obviously) without counting on the legendary resilience of Diego Simeone's men. As usual, the Madrilenians came back from the dead to snatch a result that seemed unexpected. Author of 16 goals this season in added time of matches. Atlético never dies.
FLOPS
Jules Koundé not in itWhile the Frenchman has had a magnificent season so far, particularly offensively, he has not been up to par defensively. At fault and poorly positioned on some of Madrid's goals, the Blues' right-back seemed overwhelmed.
Barça shot itself in the footHansi Flick's men, who were leading 4-2 with just a quarter of an hour to go, conceded a 4-4 draw at home in this semi-final first leg. The Blaugranas can really blame themselves. They had the space to score a fifth goal to definitively bury the hopes of the Colchoneros, but the Catalans preferred to calm the game and play "ball ball". An attitude for which they paid dearly. Barça really did not sign a good operation and shot themselves in the foot before the return leg, on April 2 in the Spanish capital.
