Football: Rangers choose Barry Ferguson to succeed Philippe Clément

Barry Ferguson, a former Rangers player and captain, returns to the club at "a difficult time" , said Patrick Stewart, the CEO of the Glasgow club in a statement.
Second in the league, Rangers are 13 points behind their great Glasgow rivals, Celtic, after 27 matches. In the cup, they were eliminated at the beginning of February by Queen's Park, a club from the second division. In the Europa League, the club is still in the running and will face the Turkish side Fenerbahçe in the round of 16 in March.
Philippe Clement was dismissed from his duties after another defeat on Saturday, at home to St Mirren (2-0). The Belgian, a former AS Monaco coach, had been appointed in October 2023 and had won the Scottish League Cup two months after his arrival.
