Ligue 1: Malick Fofana out for at least 10 days with OL

Winger Malick Fofana suffered a severe head injury during training on Monday. With concussion protocol in place, the Belgian will not be able to play again for ten days at the earliest.

After suffering a head injury during training on Monday, July 29, Malick Fofana was forced to withdraw from Olympique Lyonnais' next two friendlies, including the one against Bayern Munich on August 2.

Le Progrès explains that the 20-year-old Belgian winger will undergo concussion protocol and will therefore not be able to participate in any matches for the next ten days. Gones coach Paulo Fonseca clarified that it was "a head contusion, and we have to follow the protocol, that's how it is, that's the rule."

It is possible that Fofana will never wear the OL jersey again in an official match since the Belgian is highly sought after in Europe, notably by Liverpool and Bayern, the reigning English and German champions respectively.

Malick Fofana clearly represents the club's greatest market value. In a context of severe economic difficulties, Lyon could well be forced to sell its jewel to the highest bidder.
