Luis Enrique after Arsenal-PSG: "This result is a great joy, but it's only just beginning"

Luis Enrique after Arsenal-PSG: "This result is a great joy, but it's only just beginning"

The Parisian coach takes stock after his players' victory away to Arsenal on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Ousmane Dembélé and his injury : "Any news? No, I don't have any. There will be tests tomorrow (Wednesday) and we'll give you the information. There's a doubt for the return match, but it's not serious."

His analysis of the match : "The match had several phases, an incredible atmosphere at the start and it quickly became wonderful with this goal (in the 4th minute) , which gave us confidence, we had control and chances. In the second half, Arsenal dominated more, especially on set pieces and long balls. In the end, it could have been worse, it could have been better, it's still up in the air."

PSG united : "They're a team that always shows itself to be competitive, whether they're leading or not. There's a lot of collective work, defensively from the forwards, offensively from the midfield, defensively from the whole team... You can't play against an opponent as strong as Arsenal by calculating. We were even better without the ball, united, with help."

"The goal will be to win the return match"

Luis Enrique

The return leg : "The first objective has been achieved. It could have been a draw and it wouldn't have mattered, it could have been 2-0. The objective will be to win the return leg. We mustn't calculate against Arsenal. They can score in the return leg. We never went down against Liverpool . We will have to win against a team that has nothing to lose. It will be thrilling for the fans and painful for the coaches."

Lessons from previous rounds : "I sometimes saw things repeated from the Birmingham match. There were 10-15 minutes when Aston Villa could have won. We always want to play well, the fans like that. This result is a great joy, but it's only just beginning and both teams will have their chance in the return leg."

Gianluigi Donnarumma : "I would like to highlight the work of 14 or 15 players. You can't achieve this result without 14 or 15 players who are convinced of what we had to do. Yes, you need a top-level goalkeeper, but the forwards, the midfielders, the defenders, and Warren (Zaire-Emery) who came on, showed the right mentality."
