It was already the third defeat of the season suffered by Nice, who were outclassed in both the first and second legs against Benfica (losses 0-2 and then 2-0), in the third qualifying round for the Champions League. They will therefore play in the Europa League. Opposite, Auxerre gained confidence against promoted Lorient, who were beaten 1-0 thanks to a goal from Lassine Sinayoko.
