Portugal-Spain scores: Nuno Mendes eclipsed Lamine Yamal
Highly visible on Wednesday against Germany (2-1), he was once again present on the left wing. His goal with a sharp strike (26th) allowed the Portuguese to equalize and his deflected cross benefited Ronaldo (61st). Against Yamal, he was rarely in trouble. He also made a superb save (63rd) and converted his penalty.
Although he barely influenced his team's play, he was still involved in both Portuguese goals: first, on the verge of offside at the start of the action following Nuno Mendes' equaliser, then by taking the deflected cross from the Parisian defender to score his 138th international goal.
Rodri's substitute in the Roja midfield was much more offensive than in the semi-final, and it was almost logical to see him finish off a move he himself had started (21st). The midfielder constantly broke lines with his ball control, without ever letting up.
The Real Sociedad striker confirmed his status as a man of the big games. His clever deflection for Zubimendi allowed the first pass to open the scoring (21st minute), and he made the perfect move to score the second himself (45th minute). There was more shadow work to come.

Preferred to Porro on the right flank, the Celta Vigo full-back quickly suffered against Neto and was eliminated far too easily by Nuno Mendes for the Portuguese equalizer (26th). He was again overtaken by the Parisian for the second goal, even though Yamal pretended to defend (60th). Replaced by Porro (92nd), who made a good comeback in front of Leao (102nd).
Although his cross was the source of Zubimendi's goal, the Barcelona player generally struggled against a titanic Nuno Mendes. He tried to get out of position, without success, he earned a few cards but he made some wasteful attempts. His defense on the second goal was suspect. Replaced by Pino (106th).
Once again starting in central defense, he was booked for elbowing Oyarzabal in the back (19th). He was often late in duels and was too passive on the Real Sociedad striker's goal (45th). Logically replaced by Renato Veiga (74th), who was more reassuring in his interventions.
Solid against Germany, he was disappointing this time, making too many poor choices. He wasn't always in the rhythm and lost many duels. Overall, he had too little influence on his team's play. He only had the merit of converting his shot on goal.
