Real Oviedo-Real Madrid: the film of the Merengue victory thanks to Mbappé's double

Kylian Mbappé's Real Madrid won 3-0 at Oviedo, but the score was flattering as the newly promoted team caused problems for the Merengue in the second half.

Brahim Diaz breaks away down the right and crosses low to Vinicius, but Trent lets the ball through, which upsets the Oviedo defense. The Brazilian enters the box, hooks the ball, and finishes calmly with his right foot.

Hassan wins the ball on the edge of the Madrid area and unleashes a powerful left-footed cross-field shot. Thibaut Courtois shows what a great goalkeeper he is and moves perfectly to save this powerful shot.

The Brazilian finally shows his mettle. He cuts into the box from the left flank, but on his right foot. His low shot is sent out for a corner by the Oviedo defense. Tchouameni's header from the corner is saved by a decidedly busy Escandell.

Valverde puts on a show in midfield, weaving between several players before passing the ball to his French number 10. Kylian Mbappé attempts a sombrero that goes through but is brought down by his opponent. Foul awarded.

The Ghanaian from Oviedo tries from afar in front of Courtois' goal but the shot is too axial and the Belgian catches it without problem.

Oviedo's players are having a moment of excitement. Salomon Rondon is found in the box, but Dean Huijsen pushes him and he collapses. The crowd boos the referee, who doesn't flinch, as does the video assistant.

The Brazilian dribbles and tries to pass between three Oviedo players before passing it to Güler. The Turk passes it back to him, but Rodrygo ends up being caught.

Tchouameni crosses hard from the right side. No Madrid player is able to get a pass, but an Oviedo defender is surprised by the power of the ball and sends it back towards his goal. Escandell is alert in goal and catches it.

Rodrygo and Mbappé could not find an opening on the left side and passed the ball to Valverde who shot well over from 25 meters.

Mastantuono is found deep in the box but an Oviedo defender tackles the young Argentinian and sends the ball out for a corner, which comes to nothing.

Real Madrid are on the attack and will try to put themselves out of contention as early as possible in the second half.

Real Madrid take the lead away to Oviedo thanks to a goal from their inevitable number 10, Kylian Mbappé.

Tchouameni is cutting up all of Oviedo's players, but the referee doesn't say anything, so he continues. The home team tries to counterattack, but without much success.

Tchouaméni wins the ball with a dangerous tackle. Valverde takes control of the ball and passes it to Mbappé just outside the box, who turns with a magnificent move before crossing his shot to beat the goalkeeper, all between two opposing defenders.

Rodrygo is found on the left side and dribbles before shooting hard with his left foot. It's deflected by the goalkeeper. Güler can take the ball from close range but Escandell stops it again.

The Frenchman took a free kick slightly off-center on the left side. It was completely missed and the ball crashed into the knees of the players forming the wall.

Rodrygo continues to be dangerous. The Brazilian is poison for the Oviedo defense, constantly infiltrating before striking with his right foot. It's again narrowly blocked. The counterattack is quickly stopped due to a poor pass recovered by Rüdiger.

The Argentinian attempts a small bridge at the edge of the box and succeeds, but is then prevented from going any further. The minor obstruction is not significant enough to be whistled by the referee, who is allowing a lot of play tonight.

Mbappé, Carreras, and Rodrygo have already combined on the left flank several times, without hitting the mark so far. All of the Merengues' attacking moves have been going through this area for now.
