Tennis: Alcaraz strolls past Medjedovic

The Spaniard made it through to the third round without any problems, beating Hamad Medjedovic 6-4, 6-4.
World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the last 16 of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 on Tuesday by beating Serbian Hamad Medjedovic in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
Pushed and pushed in a third set by the Bosnian Damur Dzumhur in his opening match (6-1, 2-6, 6-3) on Sunday, the winner of the last Roland-Garros was better against Medjedovic (72nd in the world), conceding only one break, quickly erased, in the crushing heat.
Skip the adWith this latest success, the Spaniard now has fifty wins this season, more than any other player on the ATP Tour. At 22, he is the first player since Novak Djokovic (from 2013 to 2016) to have reached this number in four consecutive seasons.
For a place in the quarter-finals, he will face the Italian Luca Nardi (98th), a lucky loser, who took advantage of the retirement in the second set of the Czech Jakub Mensik against whom he led 6-2, 2-1.
