The Sports Caravan stops in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin to introduce children to numerous disciplines

The Jean Gioan esplanade vibrated to the rhythm of the 16th edition of the Caravane du Sport , a free event for introductory sports disciplines, organized by the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, in partnership with the Departmental Council and the National Sports Agency.
Children aged 4 to 14 were able to try out around fifteen sports in a fun and friendly atmosphere: athletics, basketball, baseball, bowling, fencing, field hockey, pétanque, boules, rugby, rollerblading, gymnastics, trampolining, table tennis, paddleboarding, diving and kayaking.
The event is fully in keeping with the Olympic spirit. Through the activities offered, young people were made aware of the values of sport and Olympism: respect, friendship, and excellence. The central theme of this edition, "Let's Keep the Games Going," aimed to extend the momentum of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games to the heart of the regions.
Discover sometimes little-known disciplinesThe town of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, which hosted the event, was heavily involved in this day dedicated to sport and citizenship. Ghislain Poulain, deputy mayor for sport, was present to commend the teams and partners for their dedication. The event was organized in collaboration with the municipal sailing center, as well as Roquebrune-Cap-Martin's sports associations, which are particularly active in the nautical workshops. It was a great way to promote local resources and introduce children to the joys of water sports.
As is the tradition of the Sports Caravan, the day ended with a raffle. Several children left with their arms full of gifts offered by OGC Nice, a loyal partner of the event. This day allowed hundreds of children to discover sometimes little-known sports, to exercise in complete safety, and to leave with a smile... and perhaps, for some, the birth of a sporting vocation.
