Less than 48 hours after the finish of the 2025 Tour de France, won by Tadej Pogacar for the fourth time , Thierry Gouvenou had a strange surprise when he returned to his office.
The man in charge of designing the Tour de France route noticed that his inbox was full of messages from Tour de France fans.

Perhaps one of these emails mentioned the Col de Tougnète, with its sections at over 20% , which we talked about when the Grande Boucle passed through the Alps.
While the route of the 2026 Tour de France is undoubtedly largely finalized , all these proposals will perhaps give Thierry Gouvenou some ideas for the future.
