Women's Tour de France 2025: route, profile and schedule of the 8th stage, between Chambéry and Saint François Longchamp (Col de la Madeleine)

A short but formidable stage this Saturday, August 2: 111.9 km between Chambéry and Saint-François-Longchamp, with 3,490 meters of elevation gain. The peloton will immediately climb the Col de Plainpalais (13.2 km at 6.3%), a brutal warm-up that could already lead to a first selection. A breakaway composed of riders far removed from the general classification could try its luck, but the big maneuvers will be reserved for the favorites. A passage through the Saint-Georges-d'Hurtières hill (4.8 km at 5.9%) will punctuate the central section, before the big final rendezvous.
The Col de la Madeleine (18.7 km at 8.1%) will be the deciding factor in this queen stage, with a finish at nearly 2,000 meters above sea level, the third highest in the history of the Women's Tour. This is ideal terrain for pure climbers and a pivotal moment in the race for the yellow jersey. A real hill climb awaits the contenders for the general classification.
