If you are in one of these situations, you can get a passport for free

If your document needs to be changed, you can request a new one free of charge: for example, if you have changed your last name, your usual name, or your first name. Proof of this change will then be required. Also, "if the administration made an error in the production of the passport," you are entitled to request a new one. No tax stamp will be required. Note that in both cases, the validity period of your new passport will be identical to your old one.

If you've traveled extensively, your passport may no longer have blank visa pages. If this is the case, applying for a new one is also free. After completing the necessary formalities, you'll receive a new passport, which will have the same validity period as your old one.
