BBC Question Time dealt major blow in 'bias' row as Express readers have their say

BBC Question Time has been dealt a major blow after being accused of being “too biased” towards certain guests. Fiona Bruce has sparked backlash in recent months with her presenting tactics, with viewers convinced she frequently interrupts panellists she doesn’t agree with and gives too much of a platform to those she does.
Express readers have now had their say on whether they think the BBC show is biased, with 6,900 readers voting yes, 158 voting no and 36 voting no at the time of writing.
This is a major blow to the BBC, as it pledges to be an impartial news producer and broadcaster. A statement on their website reads: “The BBC is committed to achieving due impartiality in all its output. This commitment is fundamental to our reputation, our values and the trust of audiences. The term ‘due’ means that the impartiality must be adequate and appropriate to the output, taking account of the subject and nature of the content, the likely audience expectation and any signposting that may influence that expectation.”
It comes after TalkTV star and Express columnist James Whale hit out at Fiona after the latest episode of the political panel show. He posted on X: "Fabulous the way Fiona and gang on question time so obviously left-wing labour supporting lovers I am absolutely amazed the Bbc gets away with it. Can’t wait to be back on Talk speaking the truth."
His followers agreed as one said: "Totally agree. I watched tonight for the first time in a long time and it’s was disgraceful biased. Clearly 3 left wing plants in the front row. There is embarrass Zia of reform. Shameful." Another agreed: "It's laughable. She's embarrassing," as a third chimed in: "@bbcquestiontime is not fit for purpose anymore. Biased to its core."
Bruce also sparked backlash with her treatment of Reform MP Richard Tice earlier in May, as she was accused of consistently interrupting him and being combative over his claims.
As Tice went head-to-head with Labour's James Murray, Bruce was heard interrupting him on multiple occasions, sparking backlash from viewers. One said: "Question Time needs to be axed. Plants in the audience, definite bias, panel members shouting over each other. It was priceless though when Fiona Bruce called out some of the panel for interrupting. Don't even get me started on the over aggressive Union Rep."
