Tomás Ó Sé & Cora Staunton Have Disagreement Over Donegal's Preparation For Kerry Test

While the weekend's two All-Ireland semi-finals were rather underwhelming affairs, it's fair to say that most GAA fans will be happy that the ultimate result of the fixtures was a final matchup between Donegal and Kerry.

Those two teams are the most talented in the country at the moment. Considering that the pair also employ fairly contrasting tactical approaches, it should make for a fascinating clash.

Of course, how much we learned about either team from their most recent games remains to be seen. Both Kerry and Donegal would record easy wins in the semi-finals, with Jim McGuinness' side producing a particularly emphatic victory.

Ó Sé & Staunton Clash Over Donegal's Preparation For Kerry Test

This year's All-Ireland final will be viewed by most as a 50/50 affair, with a potential classic in store.

Donegal will be battle hardened from their Ulster Championship campaign, although you could argue that Kerry have faced far more difficult tests in the All-Ireland series.

Appearing on The Sunday Game, pundits Tomás Ó Sé and Cora Staunton had a disagreement over how much Donegal would benefit from the lack of test provided by Meath in yesterday's semi-final.

Ó Sé: If you ramp up 3-26 against Meath, what benefit is that to them in a way? Would you be better off with a tight, tight game in the semi-final?

I would argue the same (for Kerry). Kerry's passage in the quarter-final and semi-final was a bit more difficult than Donegal's.

Staunton: I think Jim McGuinness will be very happy that he got 3-26 on the board today. As I said earlier, he got players minutes, he got a lot of his top players like [Michael] Murphy, like Ryan McHuge, like Peader Mogan, he got them off after 50 minutes.

Tomás this is going to be their 11th championship game, the most there has ever been in any championship. I think he will be happy that they will rest. He has spoken a lot about 'we only had a week off' and the difficulties. I think he will be delighted that it wasn't a hard game and it didn't go down to the wire.

Ó Sé: I just think Kerry are going to ask them a lot more questions than the last two teams have.

Donegal will be thrilled to have rested the likes of Murphy and McHugh towards the end of that game. However, it remains to be seen how battle hardened they will be as they prepare for the clash against Kerry.

All will be revealed on July 27th.
