Heavy rain in Milan, two workers in hospital: injured by branches while pruning dangerous trees

Milan, 7 July 2025 – Violent wave of bad weather in Lombardy . In Milan, the most critical moment was yesterday afternoon, Sunday 6 July, in particular between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm, when a violent downpour hit the Milanese capital, together with gusts of strong wind and lightning. A real storm that caused a lot of inconvenience and damage. During the night, two workers were injured after being hit by tree branches that they were cutting to make the streets safe after the brief but intense downpour that hit Milan.

The first accident - as reported by 118 - happened shortly after midnight in via Ceresio and involved a 52-year-old worker who was transported by 118 personnel in non-serious conditions to the Fatebenefratelli hospital. Local police officers were also on site. The second episode happened a few minutes later in viale Umbria where another worker pruning dangerous plants was slightly injured. He is hospitalized at the Policlinico hospital. On site, in addition to the 118 operators, also the police headquarters officers.
