Multi-car accident on Milan ring road: 10km tailback, traffic at a standstill

Due to an accident involving several cars on the Tangenziale Est in Milan, long queues of cars formed in the early hours of Thursday morning. This was reported by Milano Serravalle, the body that manages the city's ring road system. In particular, between Barriera Sesto San Giovanni and Milano viale Forlanini/Linate, in a southerly direction, a 10-kilometer long queue (and growing) formed. Traffic was blocked by an accident that occurred in the overtaking and fast overtaking lanes.
The crash, according to what was reported by the Regional Emergency Agency (Areu), fortunately did not cause serious injuries. It occurred around 5:30 in the stretch between exit 7 Rubattino and exit 6 Linate Forlanini. A 118 crew rescued a 57-year-old man, who was injured but not seriously. The surveys and traffic management are entrusted to the Assago traffic police.
