Pope Francis "rested well all night", Vatican note

"The Pope rested well, all night" are the words of hope released in a note from the Vatican Press Office on the morning of Tuesday 25 February .
The bulletin on the Holy Father's health conditions that the Vatican has been publishing every morning for the past 12 days is always scant. It is not in fact an official communication from the doctors at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome, but it serves to reassure the faithful and to describe the night spent by Pope Francis . Yesterday , the morning note had caused concern because the Pope was still resting at 8 and at 11 a second note was needed to let the faithful know that he had woken up. The phrase chosen for this morning's note "he rested well" seems to indicate a peaceful sleep on the part of Pope Francis. The president of the Italian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, Dario Leosco, explained to ANSA that the Pope, who is 88 years old, remains serious but the clinical situation does not appear critical : "He is demonstrating that he has a strong temperament and is reacting, and this is positive. But this clinical condition could continue for a long time, given the complex picture, and I agree with the fact that the prognosis remains reserved".
After a day in which concern had grown for his condition following the discovery of mild renal failure, in the evening bulletin released shortly before 7 p.m., the doctors at the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome, where he has been hospitalized since February 14, explained that his "conditions show a slight improvement" and that no respiratory crises had occurred throughout the day, and that some laboratory tests had improved. Yesterday evening he had a telephone conversation with the parish of Gaza, thanking them for their affection and closeness. The entire Christian world has, in fact, gathered in prayer for the Pope. Yesterday evening, despite the rain, hundreds of people were in St. Peter's Square to listen to the prayer of the rosary by Cardinal Parolin , Vatican Secretary of State. During the night, the faithful took to the streets of Buenos Aires to pray for the Holy Father.
Pope Francis arrived at the hospital with acute bronchitis that led to the onset of bilateral pneumonia . Last Saturday he had a prolonged asthmatic respiratory crisis, which also required the application of high-flow oxygen.
