With the delivery of the awards of the juries and the public close the 21st edition of Biografilm Festival in Bologna. The jury of the international competition - formed by Francesca Andreoli (president), Léa Pernoliet and Samina Seyed - awarded the Best Film Award, the award for the Best Film, Girls & Gods, by Arash T. Riahi and Verena Soltiz "for his poetic and powerful representation of resistance feminine. The courageous presence of Inna Shevchenko and the direction sensitive by Arash Riahi - explains the motivation - give life to a film that speaks directly to our time. While women Iranian and other women around the world are fighting for freedom, this story becomes a mirror and an appeal. Rooted in the spirit of 'Woman, Life, Freedom', the film is urgent, human and deeply moving." A special mention from the international jury went to The Last Ambassador by Natalie Halla, "for her profound emotional resonance and the powerful testimony of exile, of identity and the price of war": the film "follows Manizha Bakhtiyari, a former Afghan diplomat and one of the few women in to hold a similar position, while dealing with displacement and collapse of his homeland". The Hera "New Talents" Award to best first work of the International Competition was awarded to Flophouse America, by Monica Str›mdahl; mention special to Balomanía by Sissel Morell Dargis. In the Biografilm Italia section the jury - composed of Lucia Tralli (president), Matteo Bisato and Alessandro De Bon - has awarded the Best Film Bper Award, the prize for the best film of the Biografilm Italia Competition, to Il Pilastro by Roberto Beani. Special mention for A luci spente by Mattia Epifani. The Award Hera "New Talents" for the best first work of the section is was awarded to Radio Solaire - Radio Diffusion Solare, of Federico Bacci and Francesco Eppesteinger. The Manifesto Award for the best Contemporary Lives film is went to De la guerre froide à la guerre verte (Green Is the New Red), by Anna Recalde Miranda. The award assigned also returns by the Young Jury, composed of students of the Dams degree courses and Citem of Bologna, awarded to Home Game by Lidija Zelovic. Moving on to the films chosen by the public, the Audience Award | International Competition, Audience Award for Best Film of the International Competition, went to Mr. Nobody Against Putin by David Borenstein and Pavel Ilyich Talankin. The Audience Award | Biografilm Italia 2025, Audience Award for Best Film of the Biografilm Italia Competition, was awarded to Il Rospo and The Diamond, by Beniamino Casagrande. The Audience Award | Biografilm Contemporary Lives 2025, Audience Award for the Best film of Contemporary Lives, went to De la guerre froide à la guerre verte (Green Is the New Red), by Anna Recalde Miranda. The Audience Award | Biografilm Art & Music 2025, Award of the public for the best film of Art & Music, was awarded to The Lighthouse - The Fantastic Journey of the Rulli Band Frulli, by Gianluca Marcon and Diego Gavioli. Finally the Audience Award | Biografilm Beyond Fiction - Beyond Fiction 2025 goes to Alpha by Julia Ducournau. The Celebration of Lives Award went to Maurizio Nichetti and Radu Jude.
