Tittoni's Weekend: A Rockabilly Night and Great Soundtracks

July 30, 2025

Rockabilly band The Hormonauts performs Saturday night at the Tittoni Park Festival in Desio.
The explosive energy of two bands that will unleash the tunes and rhythms of the most captivating rock 'n' roll and surf music, with a charge bordering on punk. And then, in a completely different atmosphere, a true classic crossover star, acclaimed on prestigious international stages, will immerse you in the songs of great film soundtracks, from Morricone to Moroder, by way of Henry Mancini.
These are the two concerts that will set the stage at Parco Tittoni ablaze this weekend. The weekend will kick off on Saturday at 9:30 pm with a Rockabilly Night featuring The Hormonauts and, opening the show, The Wavers. Formed in 1999, the trio The Hormonauts quickly gained acclaim for their distinctive blend of rockabilly, aggressive punk-rock, rocksteady touches, and country influences, all sprinkled with a distinct sense of humor. Their original country-inspired reinterpretation of the Bee Gees' famous hit "Stayin' Alive" brought them to the forefront of the public's attention. Over the years, they've shared the stage with Manu Chao and Rancid and performed at festivals such as South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and Eurosonic in Groningen, Netherlands. Kicking things off at 9:30 PM, The Wavers will be playing their wild surf 'n' roll. With the California ocean waves at their heart, their songs hark back to the sounds of the '50s and '60s, drawing on surf music, rock 'n' roll, and twist. Having been active for nearly twenty years, the band has always maintained a busy live schedule. At 10:30 PM, it's the turn of the Hormonauts. Tickets are €12 and can be purchased in advance through Mailticket.
On Sunday, again at 9:30 pm, there's a completely different genre: Giorgia Fumanti & The Crew Ensemble will be arriving in the Villa Tittoni park for a show entitled "An Evening at the Movies: Great Live Soundtracks." The singer, queen of classical crossover, and her band will bring beloved film melodies and themes from the most famous soundtracks to the Desio festival, recreating the original magic of songs by some of the greatest composers for the big screen, such as Ennio Morricone, Giorgio Moroder, John Barry, but also Henry Mancini, John Williams, and Hans Zimmer. Admission is €12.
