Vasco Live 2025 at Maradona: Napoli ready to explode with the Komandante

by Alessandra Del Prete
After a nine-year absence , Vasco Rossi returns to Naples, and he does it in style. The two dates on June 16 and 17, 2025 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium , already sold out for some time, are not simple concerts: they are an event, a celebration, a long-awaited return that rekindles the bond between the Komandante and a city that has never stopped waiting for him. The last time it happened was in 2015 , when Vasco set the then San Paolo stadium ablaze in front of over 56,000 people. It was July 3, and that event has remained in the collective memory as one of the most intense of his tour. Then, silence. Until now.
With these two new dates, Fuorigrotta is preparing to become the capital of Italian rock once again. Vasco fever has been rising dramatically for weeks now, with fans storming hotels, social media and fan clubs. The wait has been long, and full of emotions. Because when Vasco comes to town, it's never just a live show : it's a collective experience, a carnal encounter between stage and audience, between voice and viscera, between music and identity. It's Naples that puts on its best clothes, but remains barefoot to hear him better. And he posts his greeting on Instagram: «We will make the stadium explode with joy. After three years I'm returning to Maradona for two consecutive concerts!! This stadium and Maradona always in my heart, a crazy emotion. I'm tied to Naples by the affection of the people, the warmth of the people and their generosity. Every time it's the confirmation of a mutual love. To quote the Poet Napule is ... a thousand colors». The tribute to his friend Pino Daniele has arrived.
The Vasco Live 2025 tour has already conquered half of Italy, with sold-out dates in Turin, Florence, Bologna. And yet, Naples is the warm heart of the journey, the perfect fusion point between the energy of the South and the fire of rock. On stage, Vasco leaves nothing to chance: the setlist is an unfiltered journey between songs that have made the history of Italian music and more recent pieces that speak of a difficult present but still full of hope. “Vita spericolata”, “Sally”, “Gli spari sopra”, “Rewind”, “Un senso”, “Albachiara” – each song is a fragment of life lived, and the audience, as always, sings it all. At the top of their lungs. In chorus. In tears.
Making this double return even more meaningful is the time that has passed. Vasco hasn't performed at Maradona since 2015, and in the meantime the world has changed. But not him. Or rather: he has changed while remaining true to himself , evolving without ever losing that primordial contact with the people. One of his strengths has always been precisely this: Vasco sings the truth, even when it burns. And in Naples, the truth is a religion. It is no coincidence that, speaking of the city, Vasco has said several times: "Here I feel love on me". And it is not rhetoric: it is a mutual, visceral, unique feeling.
In the meantime, while the 2025 tour is experiencing its hottest moment, Live Nation has already revealed the cards for 2026 : ten new dates in five Italian cities, with the addition of Sardinia. The story continues, as always. Because with Vasco it's never over . Every tour is a new beginning. Every concert is a new chapter in that great, infinite collective autobiography that is his music.
After all, Vasco Rossi's is not just a career, it's an epic. From his debut in the Seventies at Folkstudio, to the first songs published amid the disbelief and suspicion of the more "serious" musical circles, Vasco has made his way through records and provocations. From the explosion of "Bollicine" and "Vita spericolata" in the Eighties to the maturity of the Nineties with more introspective and dark songs, passing through the marathon concerts of the 2000s, Vasco has always been faithful to one thing only: himself . He has written songs that have become generational anthems, he has spoken of freedom, anger, love, rebellion, solitude. He has sold over 40 million records , he has entered the history of Italian live performances with records never achieved by anyone - San Siro 2024, with seven consecutive dates, is just the latest chapter in a rock novel that continues to write itself.
And now, here he is again, in Naples. In what, after all, is also a bit of his home. Two evenings, two concerts, two hugs. A promise kept. And the roar of Maradona who will shout once again: “We are the only ones” .
