Autopromotec 2025, the automotive equipment fair is underway

Bologna, 21 May 2025 – Ribbon cutting at Autopromotec , the biennial exhibition inaugurated today and which will last until Saturday 24 May , specialising in automotive equipment and aftermarket products and which will celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of its foundation in 2025.
"The future is now – commented Renzo Servadei , CEO of Autopromotec –. I'll give you an example: when phones changed, with the transition from physical buttons to screens , it seemed like nothing had changed. Instead, this changed our lives. Well, in the automotive industry it's the same thing".
In fact, "once vehicles were designed starting from the mechanics , now the software is designed first. This is why they are vehicles connected to the user, to services, to workshops and less polluting", says Servadei.
Artificial intelligence is the key to this 30th edition: "A provocation: AI helps designers speed up the process, but in the end it takes a lot of vision and creativity to be able to put together the future. The most important thing will be to have 'zero accidents'" , he claims.
Also present was Mauro Severi , president of the Bologna-based Aica: "Welcome to the largest trade fair in the world specializing in this sector – he says –. In addition to safety, we are also interested in the ecological transition , because we are not barbarians who want to pollute the entire world".
However, "we have to live with the car and we have to do it in the best possible way , through control equipment that is attentive to the safety of using the vehicle", Severi comments again.
There is then a new use of mobility at the center of Severi's analysis: "It is a theme that must be addressed together with the administrators, the roads must be equipped to use all the new accessories that are put on the car. The solution is not only electric but also other energy sources, even less polluting", concludes Severi.
A fair of deep business : spare parts, diagnostics, equipment, software. For a sector still well covered by made in Italy and a great hub of exchange, comparison and innovation.
Autopromotec "is becoming a fundamental component of the automotive industry", according to Irene Priolo , regional councilor for the Environment, Territorial Planning, Mobility and Transport, Infrastructure. It is a fair that "gives a great opportunity to our companies to build the future, starting from artificial intelligence, which will be fundamental with respect to the digitalization of processes", says Priolo.
Satisfaction also in the words of Gianpiero Calzolari , president of BolognaFiere: "A very topical fair, Autopromotec has always aimed at the future, anticipating the themes and reflections of the automotive sector. The qualitative and dimensional growth of the fair also testifies to the centrality of the topic and also the strength of the Italian supply chains in presenting themselves as protagonists in this reflection", says Calzolari.
Bologna "is the home of genius that meets innovation. This is Autopromotec: the world of the automobile, beyond the automobile", intervenes in a video message Anna Maria Bernini , Minister of University and Research. Bernini continues, "Emilia-Romagna with its Motor Valley has always understood the future before anyone else".
Through a note, Stefano Carloni , president of Airp (Italian Association of Tire Retreaders) also defined Autopromotec as “the fair of innovation and that more than any other allows us to unite to grow”. In the meantime, “the retreaded tire, a perfect example of circular economy many decades before this concept was formulated, remains a vital and strategic element for the entire mobility industry, and continues to express an important level of innovation and sustainability”.
