Blue economy: the importance of trans-Mediterranean clusters

The Ecomondo 2025 event, "Blue Horizons: Trans-Mediterranean Cluster Collaboration for Innovation in Energy, Clean Tech, and Bioeconomy," featured three vertical sessions, analyzing the importance of blue economy clusters in stimulating innovation and strengthening the Mediterranean region's scientific and industrial system. This included the relevance of government policies and priorities for transnational cooperation between clusters, with instruments such as the Ocean Pact and the Pact for the Mediterranean, to their role in academic-industry collaboration and as enablers of industrial applications and market competitiveness in the Blue Economy.

The conference, chaired by Giorgio Ricci Maccarini and Sara Tedesco of the Big National Technology Cluster and by Luca Marangoni of Cinea, was attended by various representatives of Mediterranean clusters.
