China: May surplus at 103 billion, exports slow to +4.8%

China records a trade surplus rose to $103.22 billion, in increase on the 96.1 billion of April and on the 101.3 billion estimated on the eve of the event by analysts. Exports, according to data released by the Administration General of China Customs, slows to +4.8% in the middle of the trade tensions and despite the truce on duties with the United States United, almost halving the +8.1% of April and missing the +5% of consensus. Imports, however, remain in negative territory for the fourth consecutive month: -3.4%, from -0.2% in April and against -0.9% forecast, mainly reflecting the weakness of the internal demand.
