“It is a special emotion to see the stylised eagle of Friuli Venezia Giulia next to the logo of this European Super Cup final. It represents the Region's desire to continue to grow in terms of visibility, incoming tourism and investments. This is also thanks to the organisational capacity of the entire institutional system – which on this particular occasion is also joined by Udinese Calcio – which has always shown itself to be up to the task of large events”. Governor Massimiliano Fedriga said this today in Udine during the presentation of the football match that will award the European Super Cup, between PSG and Tottenham, scheduled for Wednesday 13 August at the Friuli stadium. Also present, among others, were the vice-governor with responsibility for Sport Mario Anzil, the regional councillor for Productive Activities Sergio Emidio Bini, the president of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina and the mayor of Udine Alberto Felice De Toni. The event, which will be held for the first time in Italy, will be accompanied by various initiatives, starting in the weeks preceding the match. The highest representative of the Regional Council, during his speech, expressed a series of thanks.

Among these, one to the patron of Udinese, Giampaolo Pozzo, "who had the vision to invest in the stadium, as evidence of how in recent years he has promoted the interests not only of a company, but of an entire territory. For this reason, when we chose to become the main sponsor of Udinese, we did so with the awareness of making one of the best investments in terms of promotion, something that the facts have later confirmed". The governor then turned to president Gravina, who chose the partnership of Friuli Venezia Giulia for this final. "Undue attention - he stated -, because it is easy and more obvious to organize these matches in large cities, but in the end Udine and Friuli Venezia Giulia were chosen". For his part, vice-governor Anzil underlined that this is a historic event that certifies how "our region is capable of hosting the largest sporting events, and this elevates the Friuli Venezia Giulia region to a region of sport". Finally, Councilor Bini emphasized that Friuli Venezia Giulia has now become the home of major events, not only sporting but also cultural and musical. With a stadium that is expected to be sold out, "we expect important repercussions for local hospitality, in Udine and also in nearby locations, without counting the international visibility guaranteed by the match".
