Fincantieri signs agreement with Idea Prototipi for new technological solutions in production processes.

Fincantieri announces the signing of a collaboration agreement with Idea Prototipi srl aimed at ensuring the rapid integration of multipurpose portable cobotics solutions into the Group's production chain . The aim is to strengthen the automation, digitalization, and sustainability of its production activities, while promoting the creation of a highly innovative industrial ecosystem.
The agreement was signed by Claudio Cisilino, Executive Vice President Operations, Corporate Strategy & Innovation of Fincantieri , and Massimo Agostini, CEO of Idea Prototipi srl.
The multi-year agreement represents a concrete step towards accelerating the adoption of new technological solutions within Fincantieri's production processes, both in Italy and abroad. Thanks to the contribution of Idea Prototipi, a Friuli-based company at the forefront of developing integrated hardware and software solutions in industrial robotics, the Group will be able to rapidly integrate advanced solutions, adapting them to the specific needs of the naval sector, through a co-development process characterized by agility and flexibility.
This collaboration also confirms Fincantieri's role as an enabler of shipbuilding technology and a driver of development for the entire national industrial ecosystem. The Group offers its solidity, scale, and long-term vision to support and develop smaller, yet highly innovative and agile, businesses. In this way, in addition to supporting the local community by bringing small businesses closer to the complexities of large multinational groups, Fincantieri promotes their internationalization, offering concrete opportunities to access global markets.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri , stated: “The national manufacturing industry has the opportunity to use new production technologies to extend and project our leadership into the future. Over the past three years, Fincantieri has invested in the robotization of shipbuilding processes with entrepreneurial spirit and a pioneering spirit, with a project we have called “shipbuilding innovation.” This agreement demonstrates that collaboration with SMEs is the most effective way to accelerate the validation of new production technologies in the naval industry, creating long-term value along the entire chain. I believe Fincantieri can be a laboratory for the country on these issues. It's the beginning of a long journey, but we are very pleased with the encouraging evidence we are gathering every day from the field thanks to the team of experts we have put to work alongside outstanding companies like Idea Prototipi.”
