Remote working and global market: companies and universities face to face in Udine

The University of Udine is organizing a round table entitled “Remote working and the global labor market. How to retain talent in the ICT sector?” on Wednesday 21 May at 5:30 pm in the Auditorium of the Scientific and Technological Library in via Fausto Schiavi, 44 in Udine , as part of the cycle of meetings Companies in the chair and the PNRR 2022-2024 project Blending the physical and virtual workplace.
The initiative, promoted in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Statistics, the Department of Legal Sciences, the Master in People Management, Labor Law and HR Analytics and with the patronage of DITEDI, will offer an opportunity for universities and companies to discuss new remote work scenarios, with particular attention to the ICT sector.
The meeting, open to both students and companies interested in the topic, aims to share some successful experiences on the topic of the global labor market, with a particular focus on the ICT sector. Remote working, in fact, represents a strategic opportunity for companies, both as a retention lever and as a tool to improve people's well-being and work-life balance. However, it can have ambivalent effects on local systems: on the one hand, it favors the inclusion of peripheral areas, on the other, it risks emptying emerging economic ecosystems due to the flight of talent towards multinational companies.
The event opens with introductory greetings and speeches by Francesca Visintin , professor of human resources management and director of the Master in People management, Labor law, HR analytics, of the University of Friuli, on the topic “Remote Working and impacts on the local economic system, PRIN 2022 Project”. Anna Zilli , associate professor of Labor law, PI 'Out of Office' Project, Department of Legal Sciences, will then speak with a speech on the topic “Remote and/or smart? Virtues and vices of working 'not in the office'” and finally Giancarlo Lauto , associate professor of Business Organization, Department of Economic and Statistical Sciences, will delve into the topic “Working fully remote: the origins of the choice”.
After the speeches, the round table will start, moderated by Paolo Coppola , associate professor of Computer Science at the Department of Mathematical, Computer and Physical Sciences. Following, a networking aperitif.
The meeting is open to the public, with free admission upon registration by May 16 at the link www.uniud.it/iscrizione-21-05
