Tensions are rising between Brussels and Washington. According to Bessent, the American trade representative, if the European Union does not reach an agreement by the end of the month, new duties will be imposed starting August 1. Billions of euros in trade on key products such as steel, automotive and agri-food are at stake.

From the Forum in Masseria, Antonio Tajani tries to reassure: “A tariff war is not convenient for anyone. Our goal is an open market. We have 3-4 proposals to submit to Trump, we hope a shared solution is found. If the tariff were to remain at 10%, it is a bearable level.”
