Thanks to the B2 series team that almost reached the promotion play-offs and some provincial podiums in the youth sector of the Italian Volleyball Federation championships, the 2024-25 season brought more than one satisfaction to Gorla Volley .

The journey in the most prestigious championship for us had a difficult start , with the team struggling to get going until December, accumulating several points behind the top of the table. After the Christmas break the pace changed and an exciting comeback began that led the team to finish in fourth place in group B, just one point from third place with the consequent possibility of playing the difficult play offs for promotion to B1. This is the best result of the recent presence in B2, given that the two previous seasons ended in fifth place.

In the provincial first division championship we fielded two teams that finished in fifth place in group B and ninth in group A. In the first case the team was created in collaboration with the Gar Rescaldina company, while the second team was made up only of under 18s from our youth team in order to offer them the opportunity to grow technically by combining participation in a series championship in addition to the youth one: they performed well, finishing in mid-table.

The path taken by the team that played in the third division championship was record-breaking. A team composed only of under 16s who dominated group A by winning all the matches with full points and earned promotion to the second division for the 2025-26 season. Furthermore, our athletes completed a year to frame by also winning the final for the assignment of the provincial title , against the first placed team of group B.

There was no shortage of satisfaction in the provincial youth championships. In this last category, in which we fielded two teams, the yellow team obtained a nice third place at the end of a very hard-fought final four . The under 13 team , on the other hand, after a very positive season participated in the final four and closed the championship in fourth place, with some regrets.

Further positive results came from participation in the provincial spring tournaments, always within the Federvolley , which are held after the conclusion of the provincial phase of the championships: the yellow under 18 team and the under 13 team climbed to the top step of the podium . In the under 16 category, however, both the yellow and blue teams reached the final four: in the semifinal they faced each other and the yellow team prevailed, then conquering second place while the blue team obtained third place. Overall, therefore, the tournaments concluded with two first places, one second and one third place. Finally, for the first time we “hosted” a mixed team of 20-30 year olds who played in the Pgs championships . A pleasant experience, characterized by a lower need for technical growth and competitive spirit, but which saw the gym fill up with an enthusiastic audience at every game. During the year we have been able to count on the financial support of sponsors and the availability of several parents who have helped us limit the inconveniences of some unforeseen events, such as the breakdown of the gym's heating system, as well as supported in the activity related to the holding of the matches. The thanks of the company go to them and, above all, to the athletes and the technical staff . The results obtained and the preference given to us by the girls repay the growing efforts to face, between economic, administrative and organizational burdens, to contribute to the practice and diffusion of sport among young people.
