From crimes to repatriations: the numbers from the dossier on security and public order.

Crimes decreased by 9%: sexual assaults, robberies, and thefts. Homicides increased by 3.4%. Over 29 tons of drugs were seized in the fight against drug trafficking.
Gender-based violence is a separate issue; between January 1, 2025, and July 31, 2025, 60 women lost their lives to their partners or exes, a 15% increase. Over 12,000 electronic bracelets are active.
Meanwhile, in the fight against international terrorism, 203 individuals, extremists or suspected terrorists identified by police and intelligence investigations, were expelled for national security reasons. In the anti-mafia effort, assets seized and confiscated from organized crime increased by 22.8% compared to last year, with €300 million recovered.
On the immigration front, repatriations increased by 12%. Significant attention was paid to urban safety, with €71.5 million allocated for interventions targeting youth hardship, the safety of deprived areas, child gangs, and cyberbullying, and nearly €109 million for video surveillance. Funds were also allocated to combat scams targeting the elderly and for safe beaches.
Fatal accidents have dropped by 4.4%, although road deaths remain high. 24,000 new law enforcement positions are expected in 2026-2027.
