Mattarella and Crosetto deliver 16 eagles to the new Top Gun pilots

The President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto presided over the military airport of Decimomannu (Cagliari), home of the International Flight Training School, the patent award ceremony for 16 student pilots who have completed their training in schools. The pilots who received the turreted eagles are part of a larger group of 67 students, belonging to the Air Force Italian and other armed forces and foreign air forces, which have completed the process to obtain the patent pilot. Only a few, however, will begin their journey as Top Gun in the Ifts school in southern Sardinia, inaugurated in 2022 and by where 140 fighter pilots have already left. The others will continue their training in other specialties: some will be destined for Frosinone for the helicopters and for Sea practice for transportation. The International Flight Training School of Decimomannu, pole of international excellence in the field of advanced flight training, is a reality resulting from a synergy between the Air Force and Leonardo with a strong connotation international. It is currently able to satisfy the growing demand for advanced training of military pilots Italians and 12 allied countries, to which others will be added two soon, including the United States.
