Meloni's anger over the salary increase, and Brunetta revokes it

Giorgia Meloni is furious over the CNEL's decision, following the Constitutional Court's ruling declaring the €240,000 salary cap for public administrations unlawful, to raise the compensation of its top executives, starting with President Renato Brunetta, to €311,000. The incident, first reported by 'Domani', has given the opposition the opportunity to go on the offensive. Not only that, it has also sparked friendly fire from the League, despite its official defense of the institution.

Shortly after the CNEL president's decision, Brunetta said, "I will revoke, with immediate effect, the decision made by the Presidency Office regarding the implementation."
