Giorgia Meloni reaches a new milestone at Palazzo Chigi: with 989 days at the helm of the government, she surpasses Giuseppe Conte in the ranking of the longest-serving prime ministers of the Republic , and approaches the one thousand mark. Aldo Moro led five governments for a total of 2,279 days, Amintore Fanfani six for a total of 1,659 days. Romano Prodi follows with 1,608 days, Bettino Craxi with 1,353, Mariano Rumor with 1,104, Antonio Segni with 1,088 and Matteo Renzi who still today when he refers to his government experience speaks of "a thousand days", having reached 1,024.
