Tajani: "The right to education is not a priority for me. I am in perfect harmony with Pier Silvio Berlusconi."

"For me too, ius scholae is not a priority. That's what I've always said. From this point of view, Pier Silvio Berlusconi and I are in perfect harmony." Antonio Tajani spoke after Berlusconi's son, CEO of MFE. During the presentation of the new Mediaset schedules, Tajani was very clear about the citizenship reform launched by Forza Italia : "I generally agree with the principle, but honestly, I have doubts about the priority. It doesn't seem to me to be a top priority for Italians. I'm a bit skeptical about the timing and methods." He then added: "I'm sorry for Tajani, but I'm more against than for it, because it's not the right time. However, it's false that Tajani has pushed forward ius scholae following my or Marina's ideals."
Tajani continues, attempting to clarify his position following Pier Silvio Berlusconi's assessment. "I will try to explain to everyone the contents of our proposal, which is not a lax proposal. I have always said that our priority is justice reform, tax reduction, and citizen health protection," says the FI secretary. "I never said it was a priority; I simply stated our position. From this point of view, we are in perfect agreement. We will continue to support and defend our ideas. Certainly, other parties do not decide when, how, and where to speak. We have our ideas, I have my own ideas, I am convinced of them, I will not change them, and I am ready to explain them as best I can to everyone to understand how our proposal aims to grant citizenship in a serious manner, perhaps more stringently than is currently the case."
Among his new faces in the party, in addition to Tajani , Dalla Chiesa, and Gasparri, considered "excellent" by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, the Forza Italia secretary observes: "I always look ahead. If you look at the parliamentarians who have joined and are joining Forza Italia so far, both at the national and regional levels, you'll see that. You've seen that we have a new secretary of the youth movement, who has a good personality and is doing well; he's on television. We're developing a new ruling class. I'm always in favor of broadening and opening the doors of Forza Italia, of course." And what if Pier Silvio Berlusconi entered politics? "Perhaps, but it's up to him. It would be a great thing. With the name he carries," he adds, "if and when he decides, it will always be a positive thing. It's not a negative thing, on the contrary. The fact that the Berlusconi family is interested in the fate of Forza Italia means that they care and always support us with great courtesy and discretion."
The ius scholae, as they said. Forza Italia's citizenship reform has created divisions and tensions within the majority . The League wants nothing to do with it . And the first to comment on Pier Silvio Berlusconi's words was Matteo Salvini himself: "We don't agree with the principle of shortening the timeframe for granting citizenship, and it's certainly not a priority for Italians. Game over, issue archived; if anything, the left will deal with it in thirty years if they win."
The opposition is making its voice heard. "Piersilvio Berlusconi says that ius scholae isn't a priority, and Antonio Tajani, after putting on a ignoble show for the second summer in a row, says that citizenship has never been a priority for him either. Change the name of the Foreign Minister; let's call him Leonard Zelig, like Woody Allen's quick-change artist," sarcastically attacks +Europa Secretary Riccardo Magi . He adds: "Tajani no longer has any credibility on this issue or on anything else. He should stop using the lives of thousands of Italian boys and girls for nothing but a thirty-year-old law."
