The Municipality of Arezzo is among 85 Italian municipalities funded by the public tender "Sport Illumina," an initiative conceived by the Sport e Salute company and promoted by the Minister of Sport and Youth, through the Department of Sport. The goal is to create modular, inclusive, recognizable, and functional illuminated spaces for sports and recreational activities.
"Arezzo," underlines Councilor Federico Scapecchi, "will be equipped with a new playground for citizens, which will be built by Sport e Salute. The project will be worth €200,000, equal to the maximum contribution provided for municipalities with up to 100,000 inhabitants. The playground will be approximately 300 square meters in size and will be located on Via Fratelli Lebole, next to the Piero della Francesca school and a stone's throw from the residential complex on Via Malpighi. This will enhance an area with a consolidated sporting vocation, characterized by the presence of a free-access soccer field and a facility managed by the Arezzo Cycling School. The characteristics of the location have proven to be successful and have been chosen by Sport e Salute, which will begin work on the construction of the facility in the coming weeks, which, according to them, should be completed by the end of 2025. This is yet another recognition from Sport e Salute towards the Municipality of Arezzo, which was the winning bidder. which it has participated in with the Department of Sport. Previous projects: Sport nei Parchi, which allowed the creation of the first fitness area in Pionta Park, with free activities organized by local amateur sports associations for two consecutive post-Covid summers, and Sport nei Parchi 4-14, which will also see the creation of a new lu Ricordodico-sports area within Pertini Park for children and adolescents in the coming weeks.
