Fiorentina scored eight goals in their first outing with the Primavera. Enthusiasm erupted at Viola Park.

Florence, July 20, 2025 - Eight goals, in front of 1,500 spectators (the 'Curva Fiesole' stadium at Viola Park sold out) for the first outing of Stefano Pioli's new Fiorentina. The coach immediately fielded the team that could play in the Conference playoffs on August 21st, with only Dzeko starting among the new faces. Ahead of De Gea, a three-man lineup of Comuzzo, Marì, and Ranieri. In midfield, space is given to Dodo, Fagioli, Mandragora, and Gosens. Gudmundsson then follows behind Dzeko and Kean.

Fiorentina were in good form, with Pioli offering advice from the bench. In the 12th minute, Kean had his first chance, running wide and only being stopped by a great save from goalkeeper Fei (who had made several excellent saves). One minute later, Fiorentina took the lead. A Primavera error in the ball handling the ball led Dodo to recover it and pass it to Marì, who played it back through the box. The Brazilian didn't forgive Fei in a one-on-one situation. Kean doubled the lead. Fei excelled at a close-range header but was powerless to stop the Viola striker's rebound. The first half ended 3-0 thanks to Edin Dzeko 's first goal for Fiorentina, assisted by Gudmundsson. In the middle, another sensational save from Fei thwarted Kean, and a fine save from De Gea with his foot after a poor clearance from the Spanish goalkeeper.
In the second half, the technical gap widened. Pioli deployed the following lineup, still in a 3-4-1-2: Martinelli, Kouadio, Pongracic, Kospo; Sottil, Bianco, Ndour, Parisi; Fazzini; Beltran, Braschi. Ndour stood out, scoring a hat trick (the second goal was a beautiful diagonal shot from outside the box), followed by Fazzini and Sottil, deployed on the right flank as Dodo's assistant. He provided a perfect assist from the byline for Ndour's volley. The fans applauded the team's first outing, with two more matches awaiting them on Thursday and Friday against Grosseto and Carrarese . Valentini, now close to a move to Verona, was absent from the friendly.
